AUDIO: ‘Hopalong Memet’ Calls a Dude Ranch in New Phony Phone Call
“No bad cowboys here,” the cattle-drive organizer tells him
Stern Show staffer Memet Walker’s admitted fondness for role playing as a “bad cowboy” in the top-selling video game “Red Dead Redemption 2” has paved the way for a new phony phone.
Played on-air Wednesday morning, the call begins with staffer Richard Christy phoning a dude ranch on behalf of his brother, “Hopalong Memet,” a “rootin’-tootin’ Old West cowboy” looking to join a cattle drive. Of course, the lady who answers is instead connected with various audio drops of Memet raving about his tuberculosis-infected video-game avatar who happens to be “100-percent bonded” with his horse.
Apparently, she wasn’t in the market for an outlaw. “No bad cowboys here,” she tells him. “I would require that you’d be a good cowboy if you come.” Listen to the phony phone call (above).
