“If JD’s fiancée is listening, turn off your radio now,” Howard warns
JD Harmeyer may have spent the weekend getting treated to lap dances at a strip club for his bachelor party, but on Monday morning the Stern Show staffer revealed it didn’t stop him from finally writing his wedding vows—in fact, he even planned the exact timing.
“I thought the most honest you are and stuff is when you’re drunk and I was way drunk,” he explained.
While initially hesitant to broadcast what he had written, JD ultimately decided to get Howard’s take on the first draft of his matrimonial prose, especially considering improvements the King of All Media made to Ronnie Mund’s on-air proposal back in 2016.
“At 2:50 a.m. I wrote these,” JD prefaced as he unfurled the hotel stationary his vows were written on.
“I love you so much,” he read. “You are a beautiful creature. I can’t imagine my life without you. I’m crying because you mean so much to me. I want to make you happy. You are so beautiful and sweet. We have so much fun. I don’t want it to end. I hope you will still marry me. I love you.”
Howard immediately went to work helping craft a more heartfelt expression of JD’s love. “First of all, you’re scratching that word ‘creature.’ You don’t call your wife a creature,” he said with a laugh.
Moreover, he suggested JD elaborate a bit more on what he loves about his fiancée. “That’s the core of some thoughts there — some very caveman-ish thoughts. Now you’ve got to go back and be specific about her,” he recommended.
“Be human about it,” Robin agreed. “What does her smile mean to you?”
