The Stern Show was live Monday morning even though it’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day and most others at SiriusXM had the holiday off.

“We’re the only ones here at SiriusXM,” Howard said early on Monday. “The building is empty. We love you so much, and we’re so dedicated to our work that we came in.”

While Howard was happy to give listeners a great show, the cold weather had him feeling less than chipper. “I hate the cold,” he said. “I hate leaving the house and having to bundle up. I hate hats. I hate earmuffs. I hate it all.”

“Beth said to me this morning, ‘Are you going on an expedition of the North Pole?’ I go ‘Yeah, I hear there’s oil up there. I’ll be back with lots of money,'” Howard laughed.
