Memet Walker Did Not Enjoy Covering Steve Nowicki at an Eddie Van Halen Convention
“For the first two or three hours it was fine, but then when they’re still talking about wood five hours later in this tiny little shop, I was more than ready to go home,” Stern Show staffer tells Howard
Steve Nowicki is such an obsessive Eddie Van Halen fan that he annually travels to a convention in Connecticut dedicated to the late guitar legend and his famous axes. “It’s one of the greatest days every year,” he told Howard Monday morning before breaking down a highly contested debate over the kind of wood Eddie used to build his instruments with.
Fellow Stern Show staffer Memet Walker, who tagged along to cover the event, was less enthused. “It was like 30 Steves having this exact debate over the course of a full day,” he recalled. “For the first two or three hours it was fine, but then when they’re still talking about wood five hours later in this tiny little shop, I was more than ready to go home.”
Having been so bored that he walked laps around the parking lot just to get a breather, Memet was even willing to trade assignments in the future with colleague Wolfie. “I will trade you [an] ass fisting fest any day of the week if they do this again,” he proposed. “I’ll go to that — you go to this one.”
