VIDEO: Gary Dell’Abate Gets ‘Bagel Alerts’ on His Phone
“I’m not a cream cheese guy. I’m just a butter guy – or sometimes peanut butter,” the Stern Show’s executive producer says
It seems Baba Booey has a fondness for more than just shrimp and chocolate.
On Monday, Howard revealed Stern Show executive producer Gary Dell’Abate gets regular “bagel alerts” on his phone. “When some place makes fresh bagels, he gets alerted on his telephone,” Howard told listeners, saying it sounded like “a Bat Signal for fat guys.”
The alerts began after he signed up to receive notifications from a pop-up shop that makes fresh bagels. “I wanted to try a different kind of bagel, and I heard they were good,” Gary said. “So, I got the alert on the phone, and I don’t know how to stop getting [them],” he said. After insisting he hadn’t eaten a bagel all month, Gary told Howard his favorite types were egg bagels and cinnamon raisin.
“Do you slather it in cream cheese?” Howard wondered.
“I’m not a cream cheese guy. I’m just a butter guy – or sometimes peanut butter,” Gary responded.
“Bagels taste so good on their own, you really don’t need butter and you really don’t need peanut butter,” Howard told Gary. “You shouldn’t be doing that.”
“At my weight, I shouldn’t be eating a bagel,” Gary laughed.
Even after the bagel conversation ended, Gary’s alerts kept on coming. “Excuse me, my fresh plantains alert just went off,” the Gary Puppet joked. “And my Chips Ahoy alert just went off, too.”
