Howard and Beth Are Nervous About Their Upcoming Italian Vacation
“I’m going to try and have fun,” the King of All Media assures his wife
For the second time in five years, Howard and Beth Stern are planning an Italian vacation with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and his wife Molly. Last time, it never materialized. This time, Howard believes the trip will come to fruition.
“I’m committed to going — I want to go — and we’ve committed to Jimmy and Molly and we’re going,” he told co-host Robin Quivers on Wednesday morning. “Jimmy’s been assigned to walking around with me. You know what he told me? ‘I’ve been to Italy a few times already, so I’m prepared to have a bad time with you,’” the self-admitted homebody added with a laugh.
Beth, who is doing much of the vacation planning, joined the show to share her perspective. “I’m a nervous wreck about Italy. You’re just gonna be so thrown off,” she told Howard, explaining she planned to hide his watch if it would make him more comfortable with a late-evening dinner.
“I’m nervous about it, but I’m going,” Howard assured his wife, adding, “I’m excited to be with you. I think it will be romantic.” “I really don’t know what I’m going to be like in Italy … but I’m going to try and have fun,” he concluded. “I’m going to get there. I’m going to do it for Beth, and I’m going to do it for you, Robin—just to show off.”
