When a longtime listener was in attendance for the Wrap Up Show’s recent Fans in the Fishbowl event, he already had one Stern Show-related tattoo. That fan, Jimmy, called in on Tuesday to reveal his latest — a tribute to Howard’s late friend and stylist, Ralph Cirella.
“He was the best,” he told Howard of why Ralph’s face is inked permanently on his back. “I didn’t always agree with him on everything, but I loved his takes.”
“Thank you for honoring him,” Howard said of the gesture. “It is a very striking likeness … everything is black and white on Ralph except the berry’s in red, which I think is a nice touch.”
For Jimmy’s next visit to the tattoo parlor, he’s considering artist renditions of Wack Packer Beetlejuice and possibly Stern Show executive producer Gary Dell’Abate. “I just don’t know if I should do the Gary puppet cartoon or Gary’s actual face, like I did with Ralph,” he explained.
“If it was me, I would do the puppet — it’s funny,” Howard advised.
