Gene Hackman, the legendary two-time Oscar-winning actor whose career spanned over 40 years, has died. He was 95.

On Monday, Howard and co-host Robin Quivers remembered the movie star whose incredible film career boasted classics ranging from “The French Connection” and “Unforgiven” to “Superman: The Movie” and “The Firm.”

“I loved Gene Hackman,” Howard said.

“He was an amazing actor,” Robin added.

Though Hackman never appeared on the Stern Show, the late actress Cloris Leachman spoke glowingly of their brief romance to Howard in 2009. “It was so passionate we were beside ourselves,” she said of their dalliance. “It was so incredible that I just lost my mind.”
