Legendary “Tic-Tac-Dough” host was 91
Wink Martindale, the legendary game show host, disc jockey, and television producer has passed away. He was 91.
Best known as the host of game shows like “Tic-Tac-Dough,” “Gambit,” and “High Rollers,” Martindale more recently lent his voice to prize giveaways on the Stern Show. On Monday, Howard showed gratitude for the broadcaster he grew up watching. “I do want to personally thank Wink,” he said before playing some of his most colorful lines on the Stern Show. “That guy was 91 years old delivering like that.”
Howard also relayed the message Martindale’s manager sent expressing gratitude for allowing him a platform in his later years to do what he did best:
“Wink’s first love was radio, Howard, when he started as a DJ, and you gave him an opportunity to end where it all started. He truly loved radio, and he went out as a regular on the biggest show on radio.”
